Help Us Re‑open Our Safe Spaces
Dear Friends and Donors
Trans and Intersex Rising Zimbabwe (TIRZ) is at a critical crossroads. Five of our “Expression One‑Stop” centres—places where transgender and intersex people from rural and urban communities find health care, mental‑wellness support, SGBV services, HIV testing and a stigma‑free social hub—have been forced to close after a stop‑work order. We are now facing a severe rental crisis and have lost essential equipment (laptops, printers, a TV) that was funded by USAID.
Without these centres, hundreds of individuals lose access to life‑saving services and the only place they feel they truly belong. We are rebuilding our relationship with the communities we serve, ensuring they understand and own the programs we offer.
What we need to get back on track
- Rent and utilities for the five centres
- Replacement equipment: laptops, printers, TV
- Program funding for mental‑wellness, health packages, SGBV survivor care, HIV and related disease services, and community‑building activities
Your donation will directly restore safe, inclusive spaces where transgender and intersex Zimbabweans can heal, learn and thrive.
How to help
Please consider a contribution today—any amount makes a difference. Together we can reopen the doors, replace the tools, and continue building a future free of discrimination.
Thank you for standing with us.
Warm regards,
Campaign Lead, TIRZ
